This time I’m the first that reading this reportage remain with open mouth! Our kind friend Hudson bring us with him into the world of discus! We can literally breath the atmosphere of Amazon and is quite wildness.
W – O – N – D – E – R – F – U – L !
But is not enough! We’ll see the first photo “live” of a discus swimming in his natural ambient taken by the great patience of Hudson …and be patient more has to come… Next reportage will be down the waters seeking for all the dreaming fish that till now we have only observed in the acquarium shop next by our houses! I’ve been a bit more long in introducing this reportage but belive me that you have spent well your time….And now let’s go!

INSIDE THE AMAZON RIVER
Reportage from Santarem in Brazil

I’m very satisfied because I can tell you my adventures in Brazilian Amazonia.
In october, between 21th and 27th, I traveled to Santarém – north of Brazil. After this, I went to the region of Älter do Chão. It’s a little city next to Santarém. There, I dove on Arapiuns river and in some IGARAPÉS. Unfortunately, I had a big problem with my equipment of underwater filming. My box stanches broke during the travel from Fortaleza to Santarém, so I lost the chance to show what I saw in the dives. Hours of diving and admiring wonderful shoals of acara- bandeira, of acara-festivo and many CICLÍDEOS like geofhagos, crenichiclas, leporinus and varieds tetras, I think they are exclusive of this region. It is a natural aquarium with a big diverse of plants and trees.

Travel to Arapiuns river. Place of first dives of snorkel.
This trunk had some hidden acara-discus and many CICLIDEOS.
After this wonderful day visiting many places along the Arapiuns river, I went to others IGARAPÉS next Santarém too.
There, I was surprised with good quality and transparency of water.
I got to see many Apistogramma agassizii, tetras, copeinas sp and others CICLIDEOS.
Igarapés
Its a true natural aquarium.
After this beautiful travel, I went to other region located 120 km of Santarém, next to Bel Terra city. There,
I discovered a new variety of tetra and Apistogramma sp.

They are extensive roads throught the forests that take us to destinies never imagined…
When we wait only a Forest andsimple Rivers, appear a beautiful beach of river enclosed of fantastic IGARAPÉS.
They were many hours driving between big trees in the dirt roads with a lot of dust. Suddenly
a fantastic visual of Tapajós river appear. His water is limpid and have a blue color.
The beauty and the balance of the nature impress me every time that I come back for those places
The dives made in these igarapés, can be compared with a dive into true aquarium.
This is possible because the underwater flora and big variety of fishes live in the best ambient without pollution.
This image is a Picture of igarapé in the Alenquer region. I will do a new expedition in the next days to show
the wonderful submerged worldof the Alenquer discus. And I will send the underwater image of the places where the discus
are fished for all of participants of Mondodiscus.
